Description
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing requires the development of design-build bridging documents for the comprehensive repair of seventeen electric elevators (12 passenger and 5 freight). This project involves replacing obsolete and end-of-life components, upgrading MEP systems, addressing ACM abatement and PCB removal, and making structural and architectural alterations to bring machine rooms and hoistways up to current code standards. New elevator controllers must integrate with the Bureau's existing SCADA system. The bridging documents will facilitate the solicitation of a design-build construction contract for the complete elevator alteration. The contractor must ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, minimize disruption to building operations, and achieve targeted energy savings and sustainability goals.
