Description
Montana State University is soliciting a general construction contract for renovations and maintenance at the Molecular Bioscience Building. The scope includes interior tenant improvements; building-enclosure repairs; replacement of the existing fire alarm system with an Edwards EST4 addressable voice-evacuation system; fire sprinkler modifications; HVAC, chilled-water, heating-hot-water, boiler, chiller, pump, controls, and fan-coil work; plumbing modifications and emergency shower installations; electrical distribution, generator, automatic-transfer-switch, lighting, and receptacle work; technology cabling and data infrastructure; and related demolition, patching, painting, cleaning, insulation, roofing, and site work. The project includes replacement of the existing generator, installation of a rooftop air-cooled chiller and structural support, LED lamp replacements, new fire alarm devices and notification appliances, and modifications to occupied laboratory and office areas. Appliances and specialty laboratory equipment are generally provided by the owner where indicated. The anticipated budget discussed at the pre-bid meeting is $5,000,000. Bids must be submitted on the provided bid proposal form, including a list of subcontractors and acknowledgment of all issued addenda. For projects equal to or greater than $150,000, the solicitation requires 10% bid security and, after award, 100% performance and labor-and-material payment bonds.
