Description
The Texas General Land Office is requesting information from geothermal developers interested in exploring and developing geothermal energy on GLO-owned surface lands, including Public School Fund lands throughout Texas. Respondents should identify the proposed development type, such as power generation, enhanced geothermal, or direct use, and provide a project timeline and development plan. The agency may use the information to evaluate nominated lands, determine suitable geothermal project types for specific tracts, and develop the structure of a future geothermal production lease. This RFI is not a bid solicitation and does not commit the agency to leasing any nominated tract; a future Request for Proposals may be issued at the agency's discretion. The attached materials provide background on Texas geothermal regulation, including shallow closed-loop systems, permitting, well construction, and operational requirements.
