Description
The City of Coconut Creek is seeking a qualified, experienced, and Florida-licensed general contractor to renovate and structurally harden its Fleet Building. The scope includes structural hardening; removal of cupolas; replacement of the standing-seam metal roof, fascia, gutters, downspouts, impact-resistant overhead and manual doors, windows, and louvers; interior framing and finishes; mezzanine, stair, railing, casework, shelving, flooring, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, fire-alarm, CCTV, lightning-protection, fencing, painting, and site-restoration work. The project also includes an optional photovoltaic system add alternate consisting of 630 rooftop solar panels, with a 217.35 kW DC system, Hanwha Qcells Q.PEAK 345 modules, and SolarEdge SE100KUS inverters. The contractor must provide Florida-registered-engineer-signed and sealed shop drawings, demonstrate resistance to 185 mph wind velocity, comply with the Florida Building Code High-Velocity Hurricane Zone requirements, and obtain Florida Power & Light approval for grid interconnection and net metering. The vehicle repair bays will remain operational during normal City business hours, requiring phased construction, temporary barriers, coordination with facility operations, and some weekend work. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, testing, and related construction services. The bid package requires a 540-calendar-day completion period, five-percent bid security, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract price after award. Addendum No. 1 requires the addendum acknowledgment sheet to be submitted electronically with the bid and adds a non-mandatory site visit on September 22, 2026.
