Description
The City of Prairie View is soliciting qualifications from design-build firms for the new construction of a police station under a one-step selection process authorized by Texas Government Code Chapter 2269, Subchapter G. The scope includes immediate design and preconstruction services after agreement execution, followed by construction. Preconstruction responsibilities include needs assessment, programming and phasing, constructability reviews, budgeting and cost modeling, scheduling, value engineering, design coordination, bid-package development, and preparation of a guaranteed maximum price. Construction responsibilities include soliciting and negotiating subcontractor and supplier bids, compiling the guaranteed maximum price, and executing the construction work. The estimated total project value is $3,000,000. Qualifications will be evaluated based on organization, design-builder experience, financial strength, past performance, proposed personnel and management, job safety, and other relevant aspects. The response must include a cover letter, questionnaire response, certification form, confidential financial information, and supporting project and experience information in the prescribed sequence. Performance and payment bonds for 100% of the construction cost will be required upon submission of the guaranteed maximum price.
