TOWN OF SOUTH WINDSOR 1540 SULLIVAN AVENUE SOUTH WINDSOR, CONNECTICUT INVITATION TO BID Sealed bids for MISCELLANEOUS DRAINAGE 2026 shall be accepted on the Bid Express service at www.bidexpress.com until 10:00 AM on October 7, 2026, at which time said bids shall be opened and evaluated. In general, the work to be performed under this contract shall be the replacement of catch basin tops, rebuilding catch basin walls, replacing existing catch basins, installing new catch basins, replacing or repairing existing drainage pipes and installing new drainage pipes and outlets in various areas throughout the Town as directed by the Town on an on-call basis. Copies of Contract Documents may be obtained online via the Bid Express services website at www.bidexpress.com. Vendors must register and review each solicitation you intend to bid electronically before bidding. Navigation of the Bid Express service is free unless vendors select and complete a solicitation for bidding and completing their purchase. The Town of South Windsor, Connecticut reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted in response to this Invitation to Bid. Description
The Town of South Windsor is soliciting electronic bids for an on-call unit-price contract covering drainage infrastructure repairs and improvements throughout the town. Work may include cleaning, repairing, rebuilding, replacing, and installing catch basins and manholes; installing or repairing reinforced concrete and corrugated plastic drainage pipe, culvert ends, headwalls, outlets, and underdrains; sanitary sewer lateral reconstruction; riprap; excavation; backfilling; pavement patching; curbing; driveways; turf restoration; sedimentation controls; traffic control; and related construction activities. Estimated bid quantities are not guaranteed, and specific work locations will be selected during the contract term. The bid package requires a proposal, notarized non-collusion affidavit, bid bond, qualifications of bidder, and qualifications of subcontractors. The bid bond must be at least 10% of the proposal's grand total, and the successful bidder must provide 100% payment and performance bonds and required insurance after award. The contract includes prevailing-wage requirements where applicable, a one-year initial term with a possible two-year mutual extension, and electronic submission through Bid Express by the stated deadline.
