Description
The National Institutes of Health seeks regional referral hospital care and isolation unit services for personnel potentially exposed to high-risk pathogens while working in high- and maximum-containment laboratories. The contractor must provide the personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, supervision, and related support needed to operate the Care and Isolation Unit at a licensed regional referral hospital within 75 miles of Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton, Montana. Required capabilities include 24/7/365 infectious-disease specialist consultation; activation of the unit within six hours of request; evaluation in a negative-pressure room, including collection and processing of clinical specimens; and standard intensive-care services for at least 72 hours when clinically warranted. The facility must meet applicable Joint Commission and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments standards and be approved as a National Special Pathogens System/National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center Level 3 Assessment Center. The notice identifies Providence St. Patrick Hospital as the only responsible source and contemplates a firm-fixed-price purchase order with a base year and four option periods.
