Description
The USDA Forest Service is soliciting proposals for the End of the World G-Z Long-Term Integrated Resource Stewardship Contract in the Salmon River Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest. The project covers approximately 50,000 acres, with commercial treatment authorized on more than 17,000 acres, primarily through intermediate harvest, to reduce wildfire risk, improve forest health, and provide timber and forest products to local facilities. The mandatory and optional work includes unit reconnaissance and layout, GPS boundary and area determination, timber marking and cruising, timber cutting, skidding, decking, loading and hauling, road maintenance and reconstruction, temporary road construction and obliteration, fuels reduction, precommercial thinning, fireline construction, mastication, slash and landing cleanup, planting and reforestation, and erosion control. Required deliverables include technical plans, schedules, quality-control documentation, survey and cruise data, maps, road packages, and other project records. The contract period is explicitly stated as April 1, 2027, through October 30, 2037, with optional line items exercisable during the first seven years. A 20% bid guarantee applies to the mandatory road-reconstruction requirements, based on an estimated mandatory reconstruction magnitude of $350,000 to $550,000.
