Description
The Washington State Department of Commerce, through the Washington State Broadband Office, is seeking one or more third-party broadband engineering firms to perform final inspections for approximately 180 Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment project areas throughout Washington State and on tribal land. The work includes on-site physical audits of completed broadband infrastructure, including utility poles, underground vaults, pedestals, central offices, and customer drop locations. Contractors must compare installations with approved engineering designs, maps, as-built documentation, permits, and right-of-way approvals; document discrepancies through photographs, notes, redlines, and issue logs; and provide documentation supporting project closeout. Contractors must be able to schedule inspections within three weeks of notification and conduct multiple inspections at different locations simultaneously. Minimum qualifications include five years of broadband engineering and inspection experience, three years of relevant outside-plant construction and plan, permit, and map-reading experience, and professional engineer certification. The estimated total budget for all contracts is $3,073,294.63, and the anticipated performance period is December 2026 through December 31, 2030, with two possible one-year extensions.
