Description
The U.S. Forest Service seeks a contractor to fully recondition two belly dump trailers. The work includes frame inspection and reinforcement; crack repair and structural fabrication; replacement of suspension systems, axles, brakes, kingpin and coupler components as needed; complete electrical and air-system replacement; hopper and gate rebuilding; hardware, safety equipment, landing gear, fenders, mudflaps, wheels, and tire replacement; and full sandblasting, priming, and repainting. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision. Each trailer requires eight tires and eight wheels, for a total of 16 tires and 16 wheels. Deliverables include two fully reconditioned trailers, verification of component replacement and structural reinforcement, and final inspection documentation confirming safe and operational condition. The anticipated award is a firm-fixed-price services contract with performance from October 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027.
