Description
Sarpy County is soliciting a contractor to perform traffic signal improvements at the intersection of 168th Street and Cornhusker Road and at the pedestrian crossing of 25th Street at Fort Crook Elementary. Work includes removing and installing traffic signal controllers and cabinets, installing signal and pedestrian heads, APS pedestrian push buttons, pedestrian countdown signals, poles, pull boxes, service equipment, wiring, conduit, signs, pavement markings, and related traffic-control measures. The project also includes reinstalling existing radar vehicle detection and Opticom emergency-vehicle preemption equipment. The contractor must provide traffic control, coordinate with the school to maintain safe pedestrian access, submit required equipment and traffic-control submittals, prepare approved as-built drawings, and complete the work within 30 calendar days. An electronic bid bond equal to 5% of the bid price is required with the bid; the successful contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds after award. The solicitation requires at least three similar project references from the previous two years and identifies insurance requirements including workers’ compensation, commercial general liability, automobile liability, and builder’s risk coverage.
