Description
The City of Peoria is soliciting contractors for an ongoing, fixed-price contract to clean, route, and seal cracks and joints in major, collector, and local streets throughout the city. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, traffic control, notifications, cleanup, measurement records, and related incidentals. The City will supply asphalt-rubber sealant, while the contractor must apply it using approved equipment and may also perform hot-applied asphalt-concrete mastic repairs for cracks or joints wider than 1.5 inches. The anticipated requirement is approximately 2,500,000 linear feet of crack sealing, with estimated annual expenditures of $400,000 to $600,000. Work includes maintaining vehicle, pedestrian, school, emergency, business, residential, park, transit, and refuse-collection access; providing compliant traffic-control devices and personnel; cleaning cracks with PM-10-compliant equipment; applying blotter material when directed; and removing debris and excess sealant daily. The contract has a one-year initial term and may be extended by mutual written amendment for supplemental periods totaling up to 48 months. A 10% bid bond is required, and 100% performance and payment security are required after award.
