Description
The City of Ely is soliciting sealed bids for Water Supply Project Phase 1, including demolition of an existing pump and process piping; construction of a new intake structure and screen in Burntside Lake; installation of approximately 525 linear feet of 16-inch DR11 HDPE gravity transmission pipeline; ductile iron piping, fittings, valves, and appurtenances; and a new 1,000-gpm vacuum-prime-assisted self-priming centrifugal raw-water pump with variable-frequency drive and simplex air compressor. The work also includes electrical and structural improvements at the existing pump station, a new exterior double door, concrete equipment pads, site work, grading, shoreline riprap, seeding, and restoration. A bid bond equal to 5% of the full bid amount is required, along with Minnesota responsible-contractor certification and applicable Minnesota prevailing-wage requirements. Substantial completion is required by June 30, 2028, with final completion by July 28, 2028.
