Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, intends to specify a brand-name portion of the Duluth Vessel Yard Phase III Repairs construction contract on a sole-source basis unless industry responses demonstrate that directly compatible equivalents are available. The requirement covers shore-side electrical pin-and-sleeve receptacles for a vessel shorepower distribution system, including 60-amp and 200-amp female receptacles rated at 600 VAC/250 VDC, along with matching weatherproof spring-loaded lift covers or caps. The products must safely and seamlessly mate with existing Appleton Powertite male plugs without electrical modification, replacement of vessel plugs, or physical retooling of vessel systems. Respondents must provide firm identification, UEI or CAGE code, point-of-contact information, and technical documentation demonstrating compatibility. Purchased connector parts must include at least a one-year manufacturer warranty. This notice is an RFI and notice of intent, not a request for competitive bids or a solicitation.
