Description
Cameron County is soliciting bids from multiple contractors for as-needed mechanical inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, parts, towing, service calls, and related services for its general vehicle fleet and heavy equipment. The scope includes oil and filter service, inspections, brakes, transmissions, engines, fuel injection, cooling systems, electrical systems, tires, air conditioning, detailing, towing, emergency repairs, pickup and delivery, and repair estimates. Services cover vehicles, UTVs, ATVs, golf carts, watercraft, trucks, trailers, generators, construction equipment, and other fleet assets, with parts required to be OEM or approved equivalents and generally warranted for at least six months. The contract is intended for multiple vendors and includes primary, secondary, and tertiary award levels. Bidders must document at least five years of relevant commercial and fleet-maintenance experience, submit references and organizational information, provide financial statements, meet licensing and registration requirements, and perform at least 40% of the work with their own employees. Facilities performing the work must be within a 60-minute drive of the Cameron County Vehicle Maintenance Facility. The primary term runs from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with two mutually agreed one-year renewal options. The bid requires an original and an electronic PDF copy on a flash drive in a sealed envelope, with the entire bid packet, required attachments, and signed addenda included.
