The Federal Highway Administration is planning construction improvements for Steve Thompson Wildlife Drive. The work includes full-depth reclamation of approximately 13 miles of existing chip-seal and gravel driving surface, followed by installation of a consistent-width aggregate surface course totaling approximately 11,000 tons. Additional work includes installing an aluminum gate, a small concrete pad, safety-improvement signs, and speed bumps. The solicitation identifies three alternate aggregate-surface-course options, with one alternate to be awarded. The anticipated construction period is January through August 2027, and the proposed project cost is estimated at $2,000,000 to $5,000,000. Plans and specifications are not currently available.
