NASA's Langley Research Center (LaRC) plans to extend the existing Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE) contract with Jacobs Technology, Inc. (now Amentum Technology, Inc.) on a sole-source basis. This extension is necessary to cover the period between the current contract's expiration and the start of the follow-on CMOE II contract, ensuring continuity of critical services. The services provided under the CMOE contract include operations for specialized research facilities such as wind tunnels and laboratories, central utility operations (steam, compressed air, electrical power), technology development for automation and data acquisition systems, facility maintenance (preventive, trouble calls, RCM), and facility engineering (design, construction, recertification, project management). The extension will be for two months, from August 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026, with an estimated value of $34 million. This period will allow for the phase-in of the CMOE II contract and ensure uninterrupted support for vital NASA missions and infrastructure.
