Description
Pierce County is soliciting bids for improvements to the existing Gonyea Playfield. The work includes an inclusive play area, nature play area, basketball courts, perimeter and associated pathways, flexible lawn areas, a comfort station, stormwater management, right-of-way and utility improvements, site furnishings, signage, and landscape enhancements. The estimated basic work is $3,390,000, excluding Washington State sales tax. The contractor must substantially complete the base and alternate bid work within 275 calendar days after notice to proceed and achieve final completion and acceptance within an additional 30 calendar days. A 5% bid bond is required with each bid, and the successful bidder must provide 100% payment and performance bonds. At least 15% of labor hours must be performed by apprentices under Washington public-works requirements.
