Description
Chesapeake Public Schools is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to identify insurance carriers to offer group voluntary insurance products to its employees. The products include accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, short-term disability, and pet insurance. The current contract with UNUM expires on December 31, 2026, and services are to begin January 1, 2027, with open enrollment in October 2026. The district has approximately 6,000 employees and is the seventh largest school district in Virginia. Gallagher Benefit Services serves as the insurance consultant. Proposals must be submitted electronically via OpenGov by July 13, 2026.
