Description
The City of Asheville is undertaking a review of available technology, including microwave, private cellular, P2P, or mesh networks, to replace their existing microwave dish-based system. This system serves as the backhaul between their Radio Core building and three P25 radio system towers. Responses are due by Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM EDT. All questions concerning this Request for Information should be submitted via email to Wayne Short at wshort@ashevillenc.gov. A confirmation email or receipt will be sent upon submission. If no confirmation is received, contact the City of Asheville at 828-337-6623 before the submission deadline. The City of Asheville has adopted the Asheville Business Inclusion Policy to encourage the participation of women and minority businesses in its contracting and procurement processes. Submitters are invited to show proof of MWBE status or become certified with the City of Asheville as an MWBE vendor. The City is also a drug-free workplace employer, and contractors must certify they will provide a drug-free workplace.
