Description
The Texas A&M University System is soliciting proposals from a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) firm for the new West Campus Vivarium at Texas A&M University. The selected firm will provide pre-construction services, including constructability guidance, cost estimates, and construction schedules; develop a Guaranteed Maximum Price; and perform complete construction services under the CMAR delivery method. The approximately 68,890-gross-square-foot facility will include extensive cage-wash areas, animal holding rooms, and procedure rooms for research activities. The project also includes decommissioning the existing Laboratory Animal Care Building, hazardous-material abatement, and demolition after relocation. The facility must support applicable USDA and NIH Public Health Service requirements and Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care standards. The project planning amount is $135,000,000, including $98,477,732 available for the construction contract. Proposals, including fee proposals and general-conditions pricing, must be submitted through e-Builder by the stated deadline.
