Description
The Town of Fairfield, on behalf of its Public Works Department and Fairfield Public Schools, is soliciting bids for concrete and asphalt curbing work. The scope includes demolition and site restoration, repair of existing concrete and asphalt curbing, replacement with full-depth or extruded concrete, extruded asphalt, granite, or bluestone curbing, and installation of new curbing. Contractors must provide labor, materials, equipment, permits, traffic control when required, disposal of removed materials, backfill, topsoil, aggregate, seeding, and related site restoration. Concrete full-depth curbing requires inspection before pouring, and material tickets must be submitted for each job. No single job may exceed $75,000. The initial contract term is one year with four optional one-year renewals, for a maximum term of five years. Quantities are estimates and are not guaranteed. Bidders must submit a completed pricing sheet, references for recent similar projects, and applicable subcontractor information. The solicitation also requires acknowledgments concerning insurance, conflicts of interest, non-collusion, and the Town's terms and conditions. Insurance documentation is required before contract execution rather than with the bid submission.
