The City re- serves the right to reject any and all proposals or to accept, that which is deemed in the best interest of the City of Gloucester, MA. Description
The City of Gloucester seeks proposals from professional architects qualified in landscape architecture or similarly appropriate design professionals to advance the redevelopment of the outdoor courtyard and arrival area at O'Maley Innovation Middle School. The scope includes schematic design, design development, construction documents, permitting and local-approval coordination, site survey and geotechnical coordination, stakeholder and constituent engagement, accessibility and safety planning, drainage and utility coordination, operations and maintenance planning, cost estimating, and cost control. The established concept includes gathering and seating areas, multipurpose sport courts, planted and shaded areas, varied topography, terraced seating, and improved arrival and dismissal areas. The designer must provide public-facing and fundraising graphics, including illustrative site plans, three-dimensional views, perspective renderings, diagrams, and print-ready and digital files. The selected designer must also facilitate procurement of a design/build artist to furnish and install an interactive wave sculpture; a local artist or vendor is preferred for that feature, which is included in the construction budget. Proposers should include proposed survey, geotechnical, and other consultants in the organizational chart and may be required to provide enabling-study services as reimbursable expenses. Public engagement is expected to be limited but must include coordination with school staff. Construction documents must account for the school remaining operational, with safe access maintained and work potentially phased outside the summer period.
