Description
The City and Borough of Juneau is soliciting a contractor for a major marine construction project at Aurora Harbor. The work includes demolition and salvage of the existing float, gangway, mooring piles, and related appurtenances; construction of an approach dock extension and widening; installation of a 48-by-120-foot vehicle-accessible drive-down float, transfer bridge, bridge support float, concrete abutment, steel piles, pile frames, armor rock, and transition assemblies; and installation of water, fire suppression, electrical, lighting, crane, signage, and utility-shed systems. The project also requires protected-species observation and work suspension procedures, environmental and sediment controls, compliance with a Project Labor Agreement, Alaska prevailing-wage requirements, a minimum 40 percent self-performance requirement, and coordination with federal and state permits. The engineer's estimate is $11,000,000 to $12,000,000. Substantial completion is required by October 1, 2027, with final completion by November 1, 2027.
