Description
The City of Geneva is soliciting bids for the replacement of lead and galvanized water service lines on East State Street (Illinois Route 38). This project involves installing new copper water service lines from a new B-Box, installed by an IDOT contractor, to the water meter inside homes and businesses. The work is expected to follow the IDOT contractor's water main installation, with the new service lines to be replaced within thirty days of the IDOT contractor's connection. The project may involve directional drilling or other trenchless methods, and may require working on the south side of the road if access on the north side is not feasible. The contractor will be responsible for all interior and exterior restoration, including patching floors, sealing foundation penetrations, and re-seeding impacted areas. All employees must be at least 18 years old, carry photo identification, and present themselves professionally with company-branded attire and vehicles. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and coordinating with property owners for installation schedules. Water service to customers should not be interrupted for more than four hours.
