Submission Instructions
Description
Dennison Township is soliciting bids for reconstruction and paving of a portion of Red Shale Pit Road. The work includes milling approximately 2,200 square yards of existing bituminous pavement along the roadway centerline to a 1 1/2-inch depth and 4-foot width; applying bituminous tack coat; placing a 1 1/2-inch Superpave 9.5 mm wearing course; installing 4-inch double-yellow centerline pavement markings; and providing mobilization, maintenance and protection of traffic, traffic-control devices, flaggers, driveway access, and related incidental work. The successful contractor must be prequalified by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for the applicable work classification and submit a current prequalification certificate with the bid. The project is subject to Pennsylvania prevailing-wage requirements. Bidders must submit bid security equal to 10% of the total bid, and the successful bidder must furnish performance and labor-and-material payment bonds for 100% of the contract price, plus a maintenance bond. The bid form states that work must begin within 10 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed and be substantially completed within 30 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
