Description
The City of Norwalk is soliciting bids for as-needed body repair and painting services for its City-owned and leased small- and medium-duty vehicles, trucks, vans, SUVs, and equipment supporting the Norwalk Transit System. Required capabilities include a complete body shop with a paint booth, frame-straightening equipment and qualified operator, wheel alignment, mechanical repairs, glasswork, air-conditioning service, decal removal and installation, OEM color matching, and computerized repair estimating. The contractor must use new OEM parts when available, obtain written authorization before beginning repairs, provide estimates within specified timeframes, securely store vehicles while in its possession, and provide a one-year workmanship warranty. The initial contract term is January 1, 2027, through June 30, 2030, with two possible one-year extensions. Bidders must submit the required certifications, references, insurance acknowledgment, subcontractor designation, exceptions form, and separate price sheet through the online bid portal.
