Description
The Town of West Springfield, through its Central Maintenance Department, is soliciting bids for regular inspection, cleaning, lubrication, preventive maintenance, emergency and non-emergency repairs, and annual state safety inspections for six elevators: two at the Municipal Office Building, two at West Springfield High School, one at the West Springfield Public Library, and one at Coburn Elementary School. The contractor must provide 12 scheduled service calls per elevator annually, perform monthly inspections during the first week of each month between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., provide written inspection reports, furnish lubricants, coordinate state inspections and fees, and provide 24-hour, seven-day-a-week callback service with attendance within 60 minutes. The contract term is November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2027, with two one-year extensions at the Town's discretion. Prevailing wage requirements apply. Bidders must submit the bid form, bidder information, references for similar contracts held during the last five years, non-collusion, tax compliance, labor harmony and OSHA training, prevailing wage compliance, debarment, applicable signature, and addendum acknowledgment forms. A 5% bid deposit is required, and the successful bidder must provide a 50% payment bond and specified insurance.
