Description
Charleston County School District is conducting an informational Request for Information to identify qualified attorneys and law firms for potential retention as General Counsel and for future specialized outside-counsel engagements. The General Counsel would advise the Board of Trustees and District administration across education and school law, employment and labor, governance, public-sector law, contracts and procurement, real estate and construction, litigation, regulatory compliance, and related matters. Respondents should submit a concise Statement of Interest describing firm and attorney qualifications, proposed staffing, relevant governmental and educational experience, public-sector legal knowledge, conflicts procedures, availability and responsiveness, fee and billing practices, and up to five relevant references. The RFI is not a competitive procurement or offer of a contract; any future retention would require separate authorization and applicable Board and Superintendent approvals. Responses generally should not exceed 10 pages, excluding attorney biographies and other appendices, and pricing information is requested for planning purposes only.
