Description
Texas Tech University is soliciting competitive sealed proposals for demolition and renovation of interior spaces in the basement of its Music Building. The project includes a base bid for demolition of existing practice rooms and construction of new practice rooms, a mechanical room, and ancillary space, with three alternates adding additional practice and storage rooms. The work includes acoustical upgrades and sound-isolated practice-room construction, sound-control doors, acoustical wall panels, resilient flooring, partitions, ceilings, painting, lighting, HVAC and plumbing modifications, electrical work, building automation controls, temporary dust and noise controls, and related demolition, disposal, testing, commissioning, and closeout activities. The facility will remain occupied, and the contractor must minimize disruption to educational activities; final completion is required before August 1, 2027. A five-percent proposal/bid bond is required for proposals exceeding $25,000, with payment bonds required for contracts over $25,000 and performance bonds required for contracts over $100,000.
