Description
The City seeks a contractor to design, structurally engineer, furnish, deliver, and install a custom interactive and inclusive playground. The base bid covers playground design, components, and installation, including 2D plans, 3D renderings, and a list of proposed features. Playground components must meet ASTM F1487 and the design must comply with the stated play-area, accessibility, and site constraints. Two optional bid alternates are requested: protective artificial fall surfacing for the play area, meeting ASTM F1951, and a shade structure. The shade alternate includes conceptual design and, as applicable, sealed permit drawings, structural and wind-load calculations, electrical plans, welding certification, and installation of the complete canopy. The project has a stated total budget of $320,000 for playground features and installation; surfacing and shade alternates are priced separately. The contractor must complete the work within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. A bid bond of at least 5% of the bid is required, and performance and labor-and-material payment bonds are required after award for contracts over $50,000.
