Description
Columbia Public Schools seeks proposals for leased lit fiber transport and leased dark fiber to connect its buildings to the existing district-wide area network. Lit service must provide dedicated 20 Gbps throughput using diverse connections; dark fiber proposals must provide four strands of single-mode fiber, scalable from 10 Gbps to 40 Gbps. Respondents may bid on either or both service options and may propose for individual locations or all listed locations. Pricing must itemize installation and special construction, recurring service, maintenance, and other specified charges. The district requires ongoing maintenance for dark fiber, including 24/7 coverage and a two-hour response to reported malfunctions. Proposals must include a service description, service-level agreement, deployment timeline, network diagram, demarcation details, three relevant customer references for each proposed option, and Connect America Fund status for each site. The district also requires specified pricing information and an affidavit and notification form. The contract options are a three-year initial term with two one-year extensions, or a five-year term. The stated service start date is July 1, 2027.
