Description
The project involves reroofing connected buildings, including removal of existing EPDM membrane roofing and insulation down to the roof deck, installation of new vapor retarder, tapered insulation, cover board, and adhered PVC membrane roofing, and associated flashing. Work also includes tie-ins to existing asphalt-shingle roofs, limited shingle replacement, and replacement of gutters, scuppers, and downspouts, with concrete splash pads at new downspout locations. Existing asphalt-shingle roof areas are otherwise to remain. The project is subject to Build America, Buy America requirements. Bidders must submit a lump-sum bid using the provided Form of Bid and include the Targeted Small Business form. The bid is submitted electronically through the State of Iowa IMPACS system. A 10% Targeted Small Business participation goal applies; the form is required with the bid for bidders who are not certified Targeted Small Businesses and will use a certified TSB subcontractor or supplier, and bidders who do not meet the goal must still report TSBs contacted. Performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract sum are required from the selected contractor at contract execution, not with the bid.
