Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for snow and ice removal services at the Central Iowa VA Health Care System. The contractor would provide the personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision needed to clear roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, steps, ramps, landings, crosswalks, and entrances, and to apply brine to specified areas for pretreatment. Snow and ice must be removed without damaging surfaces, landscaping, vehicles, structures, or people, and snow must be placed in locations designated by the facility; hauling snow away may also be requested. The draft scope calls for 24/7 response, with mobilization within one hour of notification and an initial campus-wide clean sweep within three hours. The contractor would coordinate priorities with facility staff, maintain a quality-control program, and document labor and equipment used for each snow event. The draft describes a one-year base period with four option years. This is a Sources Sought notice for market research, not a solicitation for contract proposals.
