Description
The Blount County Board of Education is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified general contractors for selective demolition and new reroofing construction at the Home Economics Building for J.B. Pennington High School. Bids must be submitted in duplicate on proposal forms furnished by the architect or issued by addendum, and the bidder's current Alabama general contractor license number must appear on the outside of the sealed envelope. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Blount County Board of Education, in an amount of at least 5% of the proposal amount and not exceeding $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and payment bonds and evidence of insurance will be required at contract signing. The solicitation requires bids to be presented at the bid opening; mailed bids must be received at that time and the awarding authority must be notified if a bid is mailed.
