Description
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is soliciting bids for a livestock-grazing lease covering approximately 3,465 acres at Palo Duro Canyon State Park, including the Upper Mesquite Mesa, Lower Mesquite Mesa, and Cita Canyon pastures. The lease supports range improvement, native plant and wildlife habitat management, woody-species reduction, resource conservation, and livestock production. The lessee must provide experienced stockman and range-resource management, personally supervise ranching and grazing operations, manage cattle, maintain fencing and watering improvements, provide supplemental feed and animal-health services, and comply with pasture rotation, reporting, access, and property-maintenance requirements. The initial lease runs from award through September 30, 2031, with a possible additional five-year renewal. Bidders must submit a price per Animal Unit Month, a lease deposit equal to at least 10% of the calculated initial-term bid, bidder qualifications, and the completed solicitation forms and lease provisions. The award is based on the highest price per Animal Unit Month among qualified bidders.
