Description
The City of Detroit Department of Transportation is seeking one new diesel-powered, Class 8 heavy-duty tow truck configured for recovery and relocation of New Flyer XD40 and XD60 transit buses in depot and roadway environments. Required equipment includes a tandem rear axle, 100,000-pound recovery boom, dual 35,000-pound hydraulic winches, integrated under-lift, hydraulic stiff legs, bus-specific adapters, emergency lighting, storage compartments, and related recovery accessories. The vehicle must be new, meet the stated technical specifications and applicable FMVSS and FTA Buy America requirements, and be supplied with preventative maintenance and repair parts. The selected bidder must provide delivery, operator training for at least three DDOT personnel plus three follow-up trainings within 36 months, warranty documentation, at least one year of repair and maintenance support after final delivery, service-facility information, and a support plan. Respondents must be licensed authorized dealers capable of enforcing the manufacturer's warranty and performing repairs without unauthorized outsourcing. The submission requires technical specifications, delivery schedule, warranty terms, service and maintenance support, demonstration availability if applicable, pricing on official letterhead, the Attachment C parts pricing sheet, and required FTA forms and certifications.
