Description
Pierce County is soliciting a contractor to develop approximately 40 acres of Orangegate Park North. The work includes site clearing and grading; parking lots and paving; an ADA nature playground with engineered surfacing; bioswales, wetland and stormwater facilities; an off-leash dog park; park shelters; a restroom and maintenance building; landscaping, irrigation, fencing, signage, and soft-surface trail connections. The project also includes electrical and communications infrastructure, exterior lighting, Level 2 electric-vehicle charging equipment, a safe pedestrian crossing of 84th Street East with lighting and rectangular rapid flashing beacons, and a connection through Orangegate South to the Pipeline Trail. The contractor must coordinate with Pierce County, utilities, permitting authorities, the Parks Natural Lands team, archaeological monitors, and the public while maintaining safe access around portions of the park that remain open. The estimated project value is $6,000,000-$6,700,000, excluding Washington State sales tax; substantial completion is required within 310 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, with final completion within an additional 30 calendar days.
