The Village of Greenport, New York is requesting proposals from qualified certified public accounting firms to audit the annual financial statements of the Village of Greenport Electric Department for the three fiscal years ending May 31, 2026, with the option to extend annually for an additional three years upon mutual agreement. The scope includes expressing an opinion on the fair presentation of the Electric Fund's financial statements in accordance with GAAP (GASB #34), performing a single audit if applicable, and assisting in the preparation of the New York Power Authority (NYPA) Annual Report and the Office of the State Comptroller Annual Update Document (AUD). The audit must be performed in accordance with GAAS, Government Auditing Standards, and the Single Audit Act. The auditor will issue reports on financial statements, compliance, and internal controls. The Village's Electric Fund is self-supporting and regulated by NYPA and FERC. Proposals must demonstrate firm qualifications, experience with municipal electric utilities regulated by NYPA, and a detailed audit approach.
