Description
The City of Hutchinson is soliciting proposals from accounting firms licensed to practice in Kansas to conduct the City's full-scope annual financial audit and legally required single audits. The selected auditor will review the City's financial statements, schedules, and footnotes; provide opinion letters; issue management letters addressing reportable conditions and material weaknesses; and respond to reasonable City inquiries. Services must follow generally accepted auditing standards, the Kansas Municipal Audit Guide, Government Auditing Standards when applicable, the Single Audit Act, applicable OMB requirements, and relevant AICPA guidance. The initial engagement covers fiscal years ending December 31, 2026, 2027, and 2028, with possible extensions for fiscal years 2029 and 2030. Proposals must describe the firm's qualifications, Kansas governmental audit experience, assigned personnel and resumes, audit approach, continuity plan, at least three client references, independence and Kansas licensing, and all-inclusive fees for annual and single audits, including projected costs for potential extension years. The final audit report and management letter are due no later than July of each year, with the draft audit available for review by July 1.
