Description
Chicago Public Schools is soliciting bids from its pre-qualified various-trades contractor pool for replacement of fifteen 36-inch metal exterior doors at five entrances at Crane Medical Preparatory High School. The work includes removing existing doors and frames; installing new metal frames, fire-rated door assemblies, and associated hardware such as removable mullions, weather stripping, door sweeps, panic devices, lever trims, closers, thresholds, and continuous hinges; painting the new doors and frames; securing permits; field-verifying dimensions; coordinating the work with authorized representatives; securing the site; repairing any construction damage; and removing debris. Materials and installation must comply with the specified Chicago Public Schools standards, including hollow metal door and frame, door hardware, and door hardware schedule sections. Bidders must submit the completed and signed bid cover sheet electronically. A 5% bid bond is required for bids of $25,000 or more; payment and performance bond premium costs must be included for bids of $50,000 or more; and MBE/WBE solicitation forms are required for bids of $75,000 or more.
