Description
Louisa County is seeking proposals to lease approximately 69 acres of real property for crop farming. The property is Tax Parcel 36-22 in the Green Springs Magisterial District and is bounded by U.S. Route 15, State Route 617, a gravel road, and Tax Parcel 36-22A. The sole permitted activity is crop farming; livestock, hunting, trapping, game harvesting, unauthorized structures, material storage, assignment, and subletting are prohibited. The lessee must submit proposed agricultural and land-management practices, including crops, fertilizers, harvesting methods, erosion control, and wildlife management. The lessee must protect the public water supply, maintain buffers around pumping and monitoring wells, control litter and weeds, avoid cutting live trees without permission, and comply with applicable laws. Proposals will be evaluated on proposed land use, agricultural practices, and price per acre. The initial lease term runs from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029, with three successive one-year renewal terms available by mutual agreement.
