Description
The United States Air Force is seeking information on capable sources for a compact mini crawler crane, also known as a spider crane. This equipment is needed for lifting operations in confined or limited-access areas. The crane must be crawler-mounted and equipped with stabilizing outriggers, a safe load handling system, and operator or remote-control functionality. Key specifications include a maximum capacity of 6,680 lbs at 8 ft and 5,000 lbs at 10 ft, a boom length of 39.8 ft, and a hook height of 41.3 ft. It must feature a 360-degree non-stop swing, multi-position outriggers with an interlock system, an onboard self-diagnostic computer, infinitely variable radio remote control, and automatic hook stow. Additional requirements include a minimum 12-month warranty, a tan color, a variable delivery piston hydraulic pump, endless rubber crawl tracks with a 23-degree hill climbing capability, and a JP-8 compatible engine. Safety features are paramount, including a load moment indication (P.A.T. System), automatic winch brake, wire rope limiter, emergency stop button, and electronic control valve. A single-person work platform mounted at the boom tip is also specified. The solicitation also requests information on a recommended 2-year spare parts maintenance package, non-marking tracks, and a hydraulic tilt deck trailer equipped with necessary accessories.
