Description
The City of Syracuse Fire Department is soliciting bids for 16 complete sets of technical rescue protective clothing for Rescue Company 1 and technical rescue operations. Each set includes a protective coat, protective trouser, and H-back suspenders. The requested ensemble is intended for rope, confined-space, trench, structural-collapse, machinery, vehicle and heavy rescue, technical search and rescue, EMS-related, and other special-operations activities; it is not intended to replace structural firefighting turnout gear. The specified configuration is based on VIKING Shield PS1200 coats and PS1250 trousers, Safety Components SIGMA outer shell in khaki, GORE CROSSTECH S/R moisture barrier, yellow 3M FR Comfort reflective trim, Nomex wristlets, Kevlar-reinforced elbows, specified pockets and closures, and Syracuse identification lettering, or approved equivalents meeting the requirements. Garments must be new, current production, certified to applicable NFPA 1950 technical-rescue requirements, and supported by technical, certification, material, care, maintenance, warranty, sizing, and equivalency documentation. The successful bidder must individually measure and fit all 16 users on site and correct or replace garments affected by vendor or manufacturer measurement errors at no additional cost. The contract is a term arrangement beginning October 22, 2026, through October 21, 2027, with two additional one-year renewal options; additional sets may be purchased during the term at the initial unit price.
