Description
Los Angeles County Aging and Disabilities Department, through its Area Agency on Aging, is seeking Letters of Intent from organizations qualified to provide HICAP and MIPPA services throughout Planning and Service Area 19, consisting of Los Angeles County excluding the City of Los Angeles. Services include free, unbiased, and confidential Medicare counseling and advocacy; assistance with Medicare coverage, claims, appeals, and related insurance; community education and outreach; assistance to eligible low-income Medicare beneficiaries; appropriate legal assistance or referrals; and program administration, reporting, and compliance. Applicants must have at least three years of relevant experience within the last seven years, at least one actively licensed California attorney with Medicare-law experience, sufficient qualified staff and service capacity, and a physical office in Los Angeles County. The Letter of Intent must be on organizational letterhead, signed by an authorized representative, no more than three pages excluding verification documents, and include organization information, relevant experience, staffing and service capacity, and the required certification. The estimated Fiscal Year 2027–28 funding is $1,175,000. The anticipated initial contract period is July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2028, with three optional one-year extensions; however, this notice is not a request for proposals and does not guarantee a contract award.
