The Bureau of Justice Assistance is seeking applications for the FY 2026 Rural Violent Crime Reduction Initiative, a discretionary grant program supporting eligible rural governments, tribal governments and organizations, and other eligible applicants in addressing a specific violent crime challenge. Applicants must propose a violent crime reduction strategy using one or more eligible approaches. Allowable approaches include personnel, tactics, training, and equipment; technological enhancements such as records management systems, vehicles, protective equipment, firearms, software, communications systems, intelligence centers, and other equipment; and data analytics and intelligence capabilities, including crime-analysis personnel, training, and software. The opportunity does not require cost sharing or matching. The award range is $0 to $2,637,041.
