Kansas Correctional Industries is seeking corn and soybean seed for its 2027 planting season. Corn is requested for approximately 780 acres at 30,000 seeds per acre, with 110–117-day maturity. Soybeans are requested for approximately 780 acres at 170,000 seeds per acre, with specified maturity groups and seed treatments; bulk containers are required except for 40 units in small untreated paper bags. Bidders must provide at least three varieties and complete the supplied cost sheet rather than substitute a quote. Seed must have at least 95% germination, genetic tolerance to post-emergence glyphosate-based herbicides, and adaptation to Northeast Kansas/Missouri River bottom ground. Bidders must provide recent test-plot yield results from that area. The successful vendor must provide a 100% replant guarantee under the stated qualifying conditions, include a return policy for each lot, and deliver the seed to the KCI farm. The contract runs from award through December 31, 2027.
