Description
The City seeks a consultant to review construction plans, reports, calculations, and related documents for building mechanical and energy systems, including complex or unusual designs and projects involving advanced HVAC technologies, electrification, and energy conservation. The work includes evaluating energy models and Total Building Performance reports, performing supplemental engineering analyses, determining compliance with mechanical and energy codes, and communicating findings and compliant alternatives to applicants. The consultant will also interpret code requirements for alternative materials and design methods, advise internal staff on mechanical and energy code issues, and respond to public inquiries. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field and five years of related professional experience, including two years of mechanical plans review, or equivalent experience.
