Description
The City of Seattle is soliciting bids for improvements along Highland Park Way SW between W Marginal Way SW and SW Holden Street. The work includes widening an existing asphalt path, installing a downhill protected bicycle lane with concrete barriers, roadway paving, channelization and signing, landscaping, drainage improvements, street lighting, and two new ADA-compliant curb ramps. The engineer’s estimate is $1,700,000 to $1,800,000. The bid package requires an electronic bid through OpenGov, a completed bid form and declaration, a bid guaranty of at least 5% of the maximum bid including sales tax, a WMBE Inclusion Plan, a Bidder/Subcontractor List identifying electrical and rebar performance, and a proposal for incorporating recycled materials. The project has a 55-working-day completion period beginning on the Notice to Proceed date, requires 15% apprentice utilization, and includes substantial construction stormwater, environmental, traffic-control, prevailing-wage, and public-access requirements.
