Description
The City of Seattle seeks multiple proposals to increase access to construction apprenticeship and clean energy careers for residents of economically distressed ZIP codes, women, BIPOC individuals, and other historically underserved communities. Eligible services include community outreach and recruitment; pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, construction-trades, clean-energy, and job-readiness training; job placement; mentorship; mental-health and other wraparound services; and retention support for apprentices and clean-energy workers. The scope may address building electrification, heat-pump installation and maintenance, weatherization, energy auditing, building controls, building operations, HVAC, solar photovoltaic installation, and related construction trades and certifications. Available funding is $1,500,000 for training and placement into WSATC-registered construction apprenticeship programs and $1,600,000 for construction, apprenticeship, and clean-energy jobs, for a total of $3,100,000. Multiple proposals may be awarded. The anticipated contract term runs through December 31, 2029, with a possible extension through December 31, 2031, subject to scope, performance, and funding.
